My Mission

After more than 40 years in the fitness business I’ve discovered that the proper form and the right kind of fitness for you is key. I was introduced to Pilates as a young ballet dancer at the age of 15 and now I use Pilates as the base for all my workouts, both for my clients and myself. As I’ve grown from a professional dancer to a Fitness Pro and Pilates Educator, I understand that Pilates alone is not enough.  I’ve dedicated myself to learning the best techniques in various modalities to be able to bring my clients specific workouts that are fun, focused and effective to each of their very different needs and goals. My age and experience allows me to help others attain and maintain a healthy lifestyle and body for life!

“Move it or Lose it”- As we age we lose muscle mass, flexibility and endurance. By addressing these components daily we can maintain our ability to move in a fluid, youthful way. If you’re not enjoying yourself, you won’t keep it up, and this is a habit I need you to make for life. I’ll take the time to find out what makes you smile, whether its boxing, dance, Yoga, Pilates, weight training, swimming, cardio intervals, running - you name it and I’ll make it my business to work it into your training to make sure you look forward to every session. I don’t want you to simply follow, I want you to learn. I look forward to growing with you and guiding you to be your best self!

 

My Experience

 

2001

Founder of Half Moon Pilates, a Pilates studio with up to 5 locations in NYC and the surrounding areas. 

2002

Creator of The Lab Pilates Apparatus and Mat Certification responsible for certifying some of the best instructors in the business. 

2007

Founder of The Lab, a fitness studio in the Dumbo section of Brooklyn designed to reinvent yourself through Pilates based fitness and balance the body through Chiropractic Care, Acupuncture and Bodywork.

2008

Creator and presenter of Pilates based continuing education courses such as TRX Core Suspension 101, TRX Core Suspension Pilates Mat training, Personal Training for Pilates Instructors, Advanced Ladder Barrell, Reformer, Cadillac and Chair protocol for Master Pilates Instructors.

2009

Fitness expert for the George Foreman Grill and co- host of the web show “Knock Out the Fat”.

2010

Creator and star of the “Pilates Everyday Training” DVD and Video Series.

2010 - Present

Lawson continues to work with private clients and teach a multitude of innovative original classes
